In brief

Markus Majowski, born in Berlin in 1964, is an actor, director, producer, author and acting teacher. After training with Else Bongers he first stood on stage in Dinkelsbühl in 1987. He became known through Helmut Dietl's feature film “Rossini”, six years of “Der letzte Zeuge” on ZDF and the Sat.1 comedy “Die dreisten Drei”. In 2005 he received the German Comedy Award together with the ensemble of “Sieben Zwerge – Männer allein im Wald” (Seven Dwarves – Men Alone in the Woods), in which he played Cookie. From 1997 to 2007 he was the face of Deutsche Telekom.

On stage he has played at the Hamburger Kammerspiele, the Comödie Dresden, the Bad Hersfeld Festival and, since 2022, in “Jedermann”. He directs, develops his own plays and passes on his experience as an acting teacher. In 2025 his novel “Maria & Yasemin – Die Feuer von Teheran”, written with Nicolai Tegeler, was published. With Flourish – Artists & Industries he brings art and business together. Markus Majowski lives in Berlin.

About me

I have a place in my audience's hearts thanks to the Sat.1 comedy series “Die dreisten Drei”. Cool phones are my trademark, for instance as the man “mit ohne Schnur” for the magenta giant Telekom. The phrase is playful colloquial German for a cordless phone, literally “with without a cord”.

In “Der letzte Zeuge” (The Last Witness, ZDF) I solved tricky criminal cases for six years! In cinemas I walked through the forest as Cookie in Otto Waalkes' “Sieben Zwerge” (Seven Dwarves). And on stage I tour the whole country in many, many roles. At the Karl May Festival in Bad Segeberg my Kantor Hampel became the audience's favourite.

In 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic broke out, I spontaneously decided to train as an alarm and security technician alongside my artistic work. I have since completed several further courses and am now a certified installer.

In August 2020 I directed the comedy “Ungeheuer heiß” at the Theater an der Kö in Düsseldorf. 2021 was shaped by the Hamburger Kammerspiele, where I alternated in the lead role of “Der koschere Himmel” (Kosher Heaven).

Since 2022 I have appeared in “Jedermann” (Everyman), first alternating as Death, the Thin Cousin, the Devil, the Announcer and the Poor Neighbour, and since 2026 permanently as the Thin Cousin. In 2025 my first novel “Maria & Yasemin – Die Feuer von Teheran”, written with Nicolai Tegeler, was published. In spring 2025 I played the millionaire Hartmann at the Hamburger Kammerspiele in “Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei”, based on Hans Weingartner's film The Edukators; in autumn 2026 the production goes on tour across Germany. In 2026 I play George in “Endlich allein” (Alone at Last) in Braunschweig and on tour, and from October the chocolatier Henri Schuhmann in “Ein Herz aus Schokolade” at the Comödie Dresden.

I am an ambassador of the German Children's Fund (Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk) and since September 2025 have supported the Bad Salzungen Hospice Centre and the St. Wendel Hospice.

I regularly host events and since 2012 have led the talk series “Charlottenburger Salon” together with my wife Barbara Majowski. As an acting teacher and certified systemic coach I teach through Flourish – Artists & Industries.
